Private Library Collection
Stefan Ciobanu Collection
Private library collection was founded in 1993. That year Bessarabian scientist, politician and Romanian statesman Stefan Ciobanu gave 487 books from his private library to the Central Scientific Library of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. These books were systematized and arranged. Now they are kept in the Stefan Ciobanu Collection. A great part of the stock is made of books in Romanian. There are also books in Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and other foreign languages. The Collection includes history, literature books, social/political essays. For example:
Allexei Nakko “History of Bessarabia, Pt. 1 Odessa, 1873 [in Russian]; “Cronicele României sau Letopiseţele Moldovei şi Valahiei”, Vol. 1-3 by Mihai Kogălniceanu (Buc., 1872). From 60 published works of academician Stefan Ciobanu library has 19 of them in Romanian, Russian and French.
Andrei Ostap Collection
The colection of an honored art worker, sculptor and artist Andrei Ostap was established in 1996 and has 895 volumes, 559 are in Romanian, 304 in foreign languages and 32 in Russian. The stock consists of fiction, books on art, economy and history. Let’s mark a valuable publication of “Van Gogh: mape” (Munchen, 1920).
Haralambie Corbu Collection
Haralambie Corbu Collection was founded in 1997 and is still enlarging. It consists of 260 books including 7 works by the author. Themes of books are strongly linked to the academician’s scientific research: philology, study of literature, literary criticism. The book: “Istoria românilor” (Buc., 1996) from the Corbu Collection is of a great interest for historians and postgraduate students
Ion Dron Collection
The collection of scientists and professor Ion Dron was established in 1998. It is of a great interest for readers. It includes 829 books, the main part of which is in Romanian and Russian as well as in Gagauz, Ukrainian and Bulgarian. Many publications reflect scientific preferences of the scholar: linguistics, history and folklore. The stock has the books written by the author: “Dictionary of Gagauz Geographical Terms” (Ch., 2001 [in Russian]); “Chişinău: schiţe etnotoponimice” (Ch., 2001) and others. Rare books can also be found in the Ion Dron Collection: “România: cum era până la 1812. Moldova şi Dobrogea. Vol. 2” by Nicolae Iorga (Buc., 1940); “Dicţionarul etnologilor români: in 2 vol.” by Iordan Datcu (Buc., 1998).
Victor Cirimpei Collection
The collection of Ph.D. in philology Victor Cirimpei has 976 volumes, 557 of which are in Russian. These are books on philology, and the Romanian folklore. For instance: "Viaţa lui Mihai Eminescu“(Buc., 1996), “Temelii folclorice şi orizont european în literatura română” (Buc., 1971) by G. Călinescu.
Arcadie Evdosenco Collection
The collection of linguist Arcadie Evdoşenco consists of 644 books, a main part of which is in Russian. Generally, these are books on linguistics. For example: “Gramatica limbii române” (Buc., 1946), “Gramatica comparată a limbilor romanice” (Buc., 1971) by Iorgu Iordan.
Mihai Rautu Collection
The collection of Romanian economist Mihai Răutu consists of 64 books in Romanian.
Andrei Esanu Collection
The collection of academician Andrei Eşanu has 231 volumes in Romanian, Russian and French. Five books are written by Andrei Eşanu. Valuable books are “Institution au droit maritime” (Paris, 1803), “Spre cetăţile de pe Nistru” (Buc., 1996).
Gheorghe Duca Collection
The collection of President of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences and academician Gheorghe Duca consists of 201 books in the Russian, Romanian and other European languages. Four of them are written by Mr. Duca. Specialsits on ecological chemistry can be interested in “Redox catalysis and ecological chemistry” (Ch., 2002). The collection represents books on chemistry, ecology, medicine, history, politology, etc.
Andrei Andries Collection
The collection of ex-president of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences Andrei Andries has 308 books, 143 of them are in Romanian, 64 — in English and 101 — in Russian. The stock is situated in a branch of the library in the building of the Institute of Mathematics. It cosnsists books on physics, medicine, biology, agriculture.
Mariana Slapac Collection
The collection of vice-president of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. Mariana Slapac includes 64 volumes.
Vasile Tarlev Collection
The collection of Ex-Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vasile Tarlev includes 137 volumes in the Russian, Romanain, Ukrainian and other European languages.
Bibliographies
LISTA lucrărilor ştiinţifice publicate şi a titlurilor de protecţie obţinute de comunitatea ştiinţifică din Republica Moldova în anul 2016.
Lista publicațiilor științifice înregistrează cantitativ, realizările științifice efectuate în cadrul priorităților de bază ale activității din sfera științei și inovării în anul 2014, reprezentând o anexă a Raportului General al Academiei de Științe a Moldovei. Chiar dacă în România această bibliotecă nu este cunoscută, se pare că străinii o apreciază. Mai mult de 400.000 de utilizatori au votat în cadrul unui sondaj creat pe boredpanda.com. Sondajul are până acum 12 zile de când a fost creat, iar în urma voturilor, Biblioteca Universităţii Tehnice din Iaşi a fost desemnată cea mai frumoasă bibliotecă din lume.

Article emphasize aspects less widely publicised in the history of bessarabian pres in the first half of the century XX. Emphazis is on Historical-Archaeological Church society magazine. Years occured during the period 1909-1934 in a fire dampers 24 volumes, magazine contains studies wich reflects former history between the Prut river and Dniester rivers, in particular local church history, though not purely secular themes are missing from magazine pages. The article is the atempt to familiarise the reader with magazine and to make a trip summary through the topics covered on the pages.

La 14 mai 2015 comunitatea ştiinţifică din Republica Moldova va consemna o sută de ani din ziua naşterii academicianului Nicolae Corlăteanu, lingvist şi scriitor, om de cultură, academician, fondator al Şcolii ştiinţifice de lexicologie şi gramatică a limbii române în Republica Moldova. A publicat peste 550 de lucrări (monografii, studii, dicţionare, manuale, crestomaţii, programe didactice), a contribuit la organizarea ştiinţei academice. Cu această ocazie biblioteca vă invită să vizitaţi expoziţia cu genericul „Academicianul Nicolae Corlăteanu – organizator al ştiinţei academice”. Expoziţia cuprinde un număr de 62 de documente.
